At HUECU, we’re committed to helping high school students reach their financial and academic goals. That’s why we award ten (10) $1,500 scholarships to students starting their first year of college.
High school seniors who will be enrolled in an undergraduate college degree program during the 2024-2025 academic year should consider applying. Please review the eligibility requirements listed below before starting the application.
Elegibilidad
- Limitado a estudiantes del último año de secundaria que estarán inscritos en un programa universitario acreditado de EE. UU. durante el año académico 2024-2025.
- El solicitante o el padre/tutor legal debe ser un miembro al corriente de pago con HUECU.
Documentación necesaria
- Solicitud: Complete el formulario de solicitud de beca HUECU.
- Essay: Please share an essay of up to 650 words in response to one of the prompts below. You may re-use your personal statement that you submitted for your Common App, or you may submit a new essay.

- Some students have a background, identity, interest, or talent that is so meaningful they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
- The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
- Reflect on a time when you questioned or challenged a belief or idea. What prompted your thinking? What was the outcome?
- Reflect on something that someone has done for you that has made you happy or thankful in a surprising way. How has this gratitude affected or motivated you?
- Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
- Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
- Share an essay on any topic of your choice. It can be one you’ve already written, one that responds to a different prompt, or one of your own design.
- Calificaciones: Copia más reciente de su expediente académico (se acepta el expediente no oficial).
- Actividades extracurriculares: Servicio comunitario, actividades extracurriculares, prácticas y antecedentes laborales.

¿Cómo se seleccionan los ganadores?
Un comité de revisión de voluntarios miembros calificados de HUECU se reúne (a través de Zoom) para determinar los destinatarios de las becas.
Durante el proceso de selección se eliminan de las solicitudes los datos identificativos, como el nombre y la dirección. Los ganadores serán notificados en abril.
